Business consulting that fits the company you actually run

Most advice sounds good in a boardroom and falls apart on Monday morning. We work differently: short engagements, specific recommendations, measurable outcomes within 90 days.

Four steps, no filler

We deliberately keep our process tight. Every engagement follows the same structure, but the content inside each step is shaped entirely by your numbers and your context.

01

Diagnostic week

We spend five working days inside your business. That means sitting with your finance team, walking your operations, reading the contracts nobody has reviewed in three years. By Friday you receive a written diagnostic report with the three to five issues that, if fixed, will have the largest impact on profitability.

02

Prioritisation workshop

A half-day session with your leadership team. We present the findings, pressure-test them together, and agree on which two initiatives to tackle first. Trying to fix everything at once is how consulting projects stall; we pick the highest-leverage moves and leave the rest for later.

03

Execution sprint

Over eight to ten weeks we work alongside your people to implement the agreed changes. That might mean restructuring a pricing model, renegotiating supplier terms, or redesigning a reporting cadence. We don't hand you a slide deck and disappear. We stay until the change is live.

04

Measurement and handover

Thirty days after the sprint ends, we return to measure results against the baseline from step one. You keep every template, tool and process document we built. If the numbers haven't moved, we extend the engagement at no additional cost.

Services built around real problems

Financial performance review

We pull apart your P&L line by line, benchmark margins against sector medians, and identify where cash is leaking. Most clients discover two or three cost centres that have drifted 15–20% above where they should be.

Operational efficiency

Slow fulfilment, duplicated roles, manual reporting that eats 20 hours a week: we map your workflows, time them, and redesign the ones that cost the most. Our target is a measurable productivity gain within the first sprint.

Growth strategy

Should you enter a new market, launch a second product line, or acquire a competitor? We build the financial model, stress-test the assumptions, and present a recommendation with a clear go/no-go threshold so you can decide with confidence.

Leadership and team design

When a business grows past 30 people, the structure that got you here stops working. We help you design reporting lines, define role scopes, and build a management rhythm that keeps information flowing without endless meetings.

Pricing and commercial model

Many businesses set prices once and never revisit them. We analyse your customer segments, willingness-to-pay data, and competitor positioning, then help you implement a pricing structure that protects volume while lifting revenue per unit.

We have opinions, and we back them with numbers

Our team has worked inside businesses, not just advised them from the outside. Before founding Insight Business Advisory, our principals held finance director and COO roles in manufacturing, logistics, and professional services. That operational background means we understand the gap between a recommendation and its execution.

We charge fixed fees per engagement, agreed upfront. No day-rate creep, no scope ambiguity. If a project runs longer than planned because of something we missed, the cost stays the same.

Every recommendation we make includes a projected financial impact and a timeline. After the engagement ends, we come back to check whether those projections held. Roughly nine out of ten do. When they don't, we stay until they do.

Things clients ask before signing

Most projects fall between £8,000 and £35,000 depending on scope and company size. We quote a fixed fee after the diagnostic week, so you know the total before committing to the full engagement. The diagnostic itself is £2,500.
Our sweet spot is businesses generating between £1M and £30M in annual revenue. At that stage, there is enough financial data to work with and enough operational complexity to improve. Pre-revenue startups are usually better served by an accelerator programme.
We have the deepest experience in professional services, light manufacturing, and logistics. That said, our analytical framework is sector-agnostic. If your business has a P&L and a team, the diagnostic process works.
The diagnostic week is always on-site. There is no substitute for seeing how a business actually operates day to day. After that, most of the execution sprint can be done remotely with fortnightly on-site check-ins, depending on the nature of the work.
We measure outcomes against the baseline established during the diagnostic. If the agreed targets have not been met 30 days after handover, we extend the engagement at our cost until they are. This has happened twice in six years.
